Okonomiyaki means ‘grilled as you like it’, and is made from seasoned flour, a variety of fresh meats and vegetables mixed together and cooked in a frying pan just like a pancake. This pack contains individual packets of kombu kelp seasoned okonomiyaki flour, tempura pearls with added squid tempura, Japan-grown yam potato powder and nori seaweed flakes. Just add any fresh ingredients and okonomiyaki sauce for a tasty Japanese pancake!

Okonomiyaki Flour (Wheat Flour, Powdered Kombu Kelp, Sugar, Dextrin, Salt, Vegetable Oil, Powdered Fish Flakes, Bonito Fish Extract, Powdered Bonito Fish Flake Extract, Scallop [Mollusc] Extract, Vegetable-Based Hydrolysed Protein, Baking Powder, Seasoning [Amino Acid, MSG]), Tempura Pearls (Wheat Flour, Vegetable Oil, Dried Squid (Mollusc), Salt, Glucose, Starch, Sugar, Spices, Seasoning [Amino Acid, MSG]), Yam Flour, Aonori Seaweed. How to make your own:
1. Combine okonomiyaki flour sachet, yam flour sachet, and 160ml water in a large bowl.
2. Add 300g chopped cabbage, finely chopped spring onions, 2 eggs, tempura pearl sachet and mix well.
3. On a saucepan over medium heat (200C), pour okonomiyaki batter into two roughly equal pancake shapes and cook. Optional: lay strips of thinly sliced pork across the top.
4. Once cooked, transfer pancakes a plate, load up with okonomiyaki sauce and sprinkle with the nori seaweed sachets, and enjoy!
